Solana Saga 2 Launches — The Crypto Phone’s Second Bet
Solana Mobile’s Saga 2 launched this month with 200K+ pre-orders — meaningful momentum for a product category most observers wrote off after the original Saga’s lukewarm reception.
Hardware-wise, the Saga 2 is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 device with a 6.7-inch OLED, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage starting at $499 — competitive for a flagship Android in 2026. The differentiator is the dApp Store and Solana-native wallet integration, plus a token airdrop economy that puts ~$300 of expected value into pre-order buyers’ wallets at launch.
Software-wise, the dApp Store has expanded meaningfully — over 400 native Solana applications at launch vs the original Saga’s 20-some. Notable: a fully integrated TipLink wallet, Phantom + Backpack pre-installed, and a hardware-backed signing chip that meaningfully reduces transaction friction for power users.
Saga 2 is a real product, not a token-airdrop vehicle. 200K pre-orders is the validation Solana Mobile needed.
