Silent Hill 2 Remake Major Patch — Performance Mode Lands
Bloober Team’s long-awaited performance patch for the Silent Hill 2 Remake landed yesterday, and the PC stutter that haunted the launch is finally resolved.
On PC, the patch adds a proper shader pre-compilation pass on first launch, eliminates the Lumen-related traversal stutters that consistently dropped frame-times during the apartment building sequences, and meaningfully improves DLSS 4 frame-gen integration. Performance on a 4070 at 1440p sits roughly 30% higher under the same settings as launch.
On PS5 Pro, the new 60 FPS performance mode targets a clean 60 with PSSR upscaling, with dynamic res going as low as 1440p in dense fog scenes. Bloober also addressed the Pyramid Head encounter audio bug that occasionally crashed the encounter on certain audio device configurations.
This is the patch that should have been the launch state. Pick the game up now if the stutter coverage made you skip it.
