RTX 5050 Leaks at $249 — The Budget Card 2026 Actually Needed

By MetaRigz Desk · April 25, 2026

Multiple AIB-side leaks now agree on RTX 5050 specs and pricing — and the card looks like the genuine sub-$300 1080p answer Nvidia skipped at launch.

The current consensus: 2,560 CUDA cores, 6GB GDDR7 on a 96-bit bus, 75-90W TGP, $249 MSRP, late-Q2 2026 ship date. Performance lands roughly 10-15% ahead of the RTX 4060 in 1080p rasterization, and meaningfully ahead in any title with DLSS 4 multi-frame generation enabled — which is now table-stakes across the entire 50-series.

The asterisk is the 6GB VRAM, which will absolutely show its limits in 1080p ultra textures within a year and meaningfully sooner at 1440p. The card is unambiguously a 1080p targeted SKU, and Nvidia’s marketing materials reportedly will not even reference 1440p performance.

Most importantly, the 75-90W TGP means it slots into pre-built and OEM systems that previously couldn’t host a discrete GPU upgrade. That is the single biggest reason this card matters at all — millions of small-form-factor PCs are about to get a real GPU upgrade path.

The Rigz Take

$249 with DLSS 4 frame-gen and 75W power makes the RTX 5050 the right card for the upgrade segment Nvidia ignored for two years. 6GB ages fast — but at this price, that is fine.
