Best $800 Gaming PC Build of 2026 — Real April Pricing
For builders on a hard $800 cap, the right 2026 part list looks meaningfully different than the same budget in 2024.
Our pick: Ryzen 5 9600 ($229), MSI B850M Mortar ($129), 32GB DDR5-6000 ($79), Crucial P5 Plus 1TB NVMe ($79), AMD RX 9060 ($249), 650W Gold PSU ($69), Phanteks NV5 ($99). Total: $933 — slightly over but realistic before sale prices and rebates.
The biggest difference vs prior $800 builds: 32GB RAM is now the floor (not 16GB), DDR5-6000 is the price-performance sweet spot, and the GPU tier-skip from RX 7600 → RX 9060 is the single biggest upgrade. RX 9060 at $249 outperforms RX 7700 XT in 1440p gaming and includes FSR 5 multi-frame generation, which the older card cannot use.
$933 lands a 1440p-capable rig that holds up through 2027. Skip the cheap Wi-Fi-only motherboards; spend the extra $20 on B850M.
