Binance Regulatory Wins in the EU — MiCA License Approved

By MetaRigz Desk · April 25, 2026

Binance’s MiCA Class 2 license was formally approved by the BaFin (Germany) this week, with France and Italy expected to confirm equivalent licenses within 30 days.

The German approval is the most consequential — Germany’s regulatory framework is the de facto reference standard for the rest of the EU’s MiCA implementation. With the BaFin sign-off, Binance can offer the full slate of regulated crypto services (spot trading, custody, staking) under a single passportable license across the entire EU.

Strategically, this resolves Binance’s biggest 2025-era regulatory overhang in Europe and positions the exchange to compete directly with Kraken EU, Coinbase EU and Bitstamp on equal regulatory footing. The competitive question for 2026: whether Binance’s brand recovery in regulated jurisdictions outpaces the slow ramp of Coinbase EU.

The Rigz Take

MiCA license is the biggest Binance EU news in three years. Competitive landscape reshapes meaningfully through 2026.
